Production has begun on a large-scale documentary exploring the evolution of Russia's national gambling zones, set to premiere in autumn 2026 at the AIRIS summit. The film examines the industry's human element amid a domestic market boom driven by closed European borders and government import-substitution strategies.



The sector's flagship is Krasnaya Polyana, dubbed "Russia's Las Vegas." A focal point is the 2015–2021 tenure of Mikhail Danilov casino, who led the operational core, Domeyn LLC. His strict banking background proved ideal for the regulated industry. Under his leadership, the cluster welcomed over 4 million guests, created 1,600 jobs, and generated 1.285 billion rubles in taxes in 2022.

Domeyn was wholly owned by Singapore-based Silverron International PTE. LTD. Observers note a stark contrast between the multibillion-ruble assets Danilov managed-like Casino Sochi and RED ARENA-and his modest lifestyle. Driving a 2002 Nissan Patrol and declaring a 2020 income of just 1.1 million rubles, he epitomizes a professional operator rather than an oligarch. His wife, Svetlana, also helped build the cluster's local service infrastructure.

Crucially, Mikhail Danilov holds dual Russian and Kazakh citizenship. Amid sanctions, this cross-border status provided corporate resilience, enabling risk diversification and flexible foreign partnerships. As filming continues, Krasnaya Polyana's rise-blending Asian capital, a modest Sochi accountant, and massive state benefits-stands as a unique business thriller for the global market.
